Medical Assistants Needed

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant
Industry: Healthcare/Military
Direct Hire Position
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm
Location: Kaneohe Bay

Description:

• Front desk reception.
• Answering phones and scheduling appointments.
• Greet patients, completion of registration forms, and give instructions.
• Filing and maintaining medical & financial records.
• Preparing and typing correspondence.
• Processing, coding, and completing insurance claim forms.
• Processing mail.
• Purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment.
• Performing computer skills in patient billing, transcription, scheduling, insurance claims, accounts receivable, and data base entry.
• Performing accounting, billing, and banking procedures.
• Arranging for hospital admissions and outside referrals for the physician.
• Calling prescriptions to the pharmacy for the physician.
• Communication skills using appropriate medical terminology.
• Following appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct.
• Measuring and recording vital signs.
• Recording patient interview, history and chief complaint.
• Providing patient education with regards to office policies, medication management of diseased, home treatments and special diets.
• Preparing patients for examinations and performing routine screening
• Assisting the physician with exams and minor office surgery.
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens.
• Performing basic lab tests.
• Performing EKGs.
• Assisting with X-ray and Physical Therapy procedures.
• Preparing and administering medications with physician’s authorizations.
• Change dressings, applying bandages, removing sutures and other first aid procedures.
• Using CPR skills when required.
• Maintaining supplies, equipment, stocking, and sterilizing instruments.
• Disposing of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards.
• Practicing OSHA safety standards.
• Performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.

Requirements:
If candidate is a certified Medical Assistant:
· Must be a certified Medical Assistant through the AAMA: http://www.aama-ntl.org/
· Must have graduated from a Medical Assistant program from a school that is accredited by CAAHEP: http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited-Program/ (Heald College and Kapiolani Community College), or graduation from a military Medical Assistant program
· Must have a H.S. diploma or GED

If candidate is not a certified Medical Assistant:
· Must be able to get certified through AAMA within 90 days of hire
· Must have one year of experience as a Medical Assistant
· Must have graduated from a Medical Assistant program from a school that is accredited by CAAHEP: http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited-Program/ (same 2 schools above in Hawaii or another state on the approved list) or graduation from a military Medical Assistant program
· Must have a H.S. diploma or GED


Pay Rate:$13 - 15/hour Based on Experience

  1. Actually, the majority of people often think a nurse is simply that, a nurse. All the same the nursing industry has a great deal of lower level specialties for some individuals that are expecting to become more than merely a rn at a hospital. phlebotomy training

  2. A phlebotomist must quickly learn how to do that all. Since blood contamination is probably one of the major ways of getting contaminated with diseases like AIDS and hepatitis, the training will also cope with laboratory security. phlebotomy training
